The Village of Millersport recently dedicated its new water treatment plant. From left to right above are Michael Carder, president of GGC Engineers; John A. Wood, water superintendent; Doug Carpenter, Board of Public Affairs; David Sherrer, Board of Public Affairs; Chris Tennant, Board of Public Affairs; and David Levacy, council president. GGC designed the plant and supervised its construction. The state-of-art plant can treat 1.0 million gallons per day and can be easily expanded to twice that amount. Treatment includes iron and manganese removal, ion exchange softening and chlorine disinfection. The village obtained more $3.7 million in grants and low interest loans from the Ohio Water Development Authority and Ohio Public Works Commission. Beacon photo by Charles Prince. 021p1_xlg.jpg
