Members of the Millersport Lioness Club celebrated their 30th anniversary Monday night at the Lions Club. The club was chartered in 1980 with 30 members and at one time had 70 members making it one of the largest Lioness clubs in the state. Now with 22 members including four charter members, it is the only Lioness Club left in District 13K. Charter members Lois Neff and Harriette Refinati, who is serving as president, were present Monday night. Charter members Virginia Maurer and Fran Ralston now live in assisted living centers. The club has made a positive difference to the community over its 30 years, supporting Millersport High School scholarships, Millersport High School White Christmas, Millersport High School Academic Boosters, Pilot Dogs, Camp Echoing Hills, Ohio Lions Foundation, Ohio Lions Diabetic Awareness, Ohio Lions Sight & Hearings and others. Club members thanked Floral Expressions, One Man’s Treasures and Millersport Hardware for gifts for their anniversary celebration. Beacon photo by Charles Prince.
