BUCKEYE LAKE- The Buckeye Lake Tree Commission readied a Cyprus tree for planting in the village’s future nature park west of the village Friday. Commission members Clay Carroll, Crystal Davis, Frank Foster, Annetta Macedonia, and Pam Reed (Village Council President Charlene Hayden, center, represented Mayor Rick Baker who could not attend) dedicated the tree behind the Buckeye Lake Library on Arbor Day. “The planting of this tree is a symbol of our commitment to making our community ‘green,’ which, in turn, promotes the health and well being of our current and future residents,” said Hayden on behalf of Baker. “Just as we, as adults, try to set examples for young people, we hope this tree planting will inspire future generations to follow suit.” Beacon photo by Scott Rawdon. 029p1.jpg
