Field of Dreams

The League is trying to raise $30,000, primarily for materials, to build a new baseball field at Veteran’s Park. Last Saturday’s fundraiser and silent auction brought in just over $10,000. More than 100 items ranging from a paper shredder to an Urban Meyer-signed football were offered. Nearly 100 bidders participated.

The fundraiser included a pig roast, hamburgers and hotdogs for a donation. Children could enjoy a bounce house and speed pitch while their parents made their bids.

Than ks to a ver y generous donation from Bert Lindsay of Lindsay Acura and Honda that was matched by a Millersport business owner and other cash donations, the League has raised $23,000 for the project.

Most of the labor is being donated. Todd Willis donated sur veying services and worked up the design. Fred Ervin will be donating the excavation services.

The league is looking for some help with the fencing, both the material and installation. Organizers hope the field is ready for play next season. Tax deductible donations may be made at www.littlelakerbaseball.com
