Baltimore Christ United Methodist Church pre-kindergarten and morning kindergarten classes were “HOPping” for donations for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society last week. Nearly 70 children hopped for two minutes. Last year, the children and church collected more than $700 toward the cause. HOP is a fundraising program educating youths about the importance of helping others by raising money to help beat blood cancer and having fun while doing it. Each child (with a parent/guardian) collects donations or a pledge per HOP. On the day of the HOP, the total number of HOPs is recorded. Students and parents then collect donations from donors. Students receive a Certificate of Appreciation, and are eligible to earn prizes. Beacon photo by Scott Rawdon.
