Ray E. Riencheld

Ray E. Riencheld, age 73, of Baltimore, passed away at his home on March 19, 2014.

Ray was a graduate of Stoutsville High School. He was a member of the Thurston United Methodist Church. He worked for many years as a painter and retired with over 30 years as a heavy equipment operator. Ray loved tinkering with engines and was a top-notch welder. He was a great athlete and excelled at just about any sport he tried, especially basketball, baseball, and bowling. Ray was also a great teacher, always willing to share his knowledge or skills with others. He was a regular at Weidner’s Corner for many years. Ray was a loving father and grandfather who was always there with help and advice or to attend his granddaughter’s sporting events.

Ray is survived by his daughters, Risha (Tom) Wagner and Randa Gallagher; and granddaughter, Mikaela Rae Wagner.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Mae Riencheld; parents, Harold and Pauline Riencheld; and brother, Carl Riencheld.

Funeral service for Ray was held March 24, 2014, at the Thurston United Methodist Church, with Reverend Dr. Rebeka Maples and Reverend Alice Wolfe officiating. Burial followed in Forest Rose Cemetery, Lancaster.
