Alexandra Sakas, age 89 of Lancaster, passed away March 16, 2014, at Carriage Court. She was born April 15, 1924, in Kaunus, Lithuania and came to the US in 1947. She proudly became a US Citizen.
Alexandra loved the beautiful things in life. She enjoyed flower gardening, was an avid birdwatcher, and entertained her grandchildren with music. She was a homemaker who took great pride in her home and cooked delicious meals. She was an excellent artist, who painted many beautiful paintings.
Alexandra is survived by her children, Dan (Lora) Sakas of Lancaster, Irene (Ron) DiPaolo of Baltimore; grandchildren living locally, Dennis (Jessica), Matthew, Joseph (Amanda), and Christine DiPaolo; and great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held March 19, 2014, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Lancaster, with Fr. Craig R. Eilerman officiating. Burial followed the Mass at St. Mary Cemetery.
