Randolph “Randy” Sherrard
A Mass of Christian Burial for Randolph “Randy” Sherrard, age 73, of Harbor Hills, was held February 22, 2014, at St. Leonard Catholic Church, Heath, with Father William Ferguson as celebrant.
Randy passed away February 19, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). He was born November 19, 1939, in Newark, to the late George and Virginia (Reynolds) Sherrard.
Randy graduated from Colgate University with a Bachelors of Science majoring in Chemistry. He played pro-football for the Houston Oilers. After his football career, he owned and operated several business - Kar-Gard Muffler in Newark and The Wagon Wheel and an auto parts store in Lancaster. Randy appreciated life and was a very determined man who enjoyed living near Buckeye Lake and its amenities. Randy was a parishioner of St. Leonard’s and a member of Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Susie (Spada); eight children, Michael Sherrard of Newark, George (Lisa) Sherrard of California, Jan Sebastian of Florida, Jill (Stephen) Cole of Montgomery, Terry Holycross of Thornville, Kelley (Jim) Henry of Gahanna, Chad Holycross of Worthington and Bridget (Chris) Nudi of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.
The Heath Chapel of Henderson Van Atta-Stickle, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath assisted the family with arrangements.
