Cecil “Ed” Lewis, Jr.

Cecil “Ed” Lewis, Jr., age 87 of Millersport, died February 9, 2014, following an extended illness.

He was born June 22, 1926, in Bidwell, Ohio, the son of the late Cecil Edward and Mamie (Sprague) Lewis. Ed served honorably in the US Army, as a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington, D.C. He was a retired barber.

He is survived by his family: sons, Edward Lewis and Dr. Steven (Melissa) Lewis of Millersport; daughters, Debra (Bob) Elflein of Baltimore, Dianne (Dr. John) Winnestaffer of Hilton Head, SC; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Kurnat. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma Lewis; and sisters, Judith Conley and Delores Carter.

Private family services were held in the Millersport Cemetery with full military honors.
