Help needed for bike/skate park

Editor:

I am gathering a group of interested people who want to help support our local skate/bike park with some fundraising, repairs, improvements and events. We will be working as a sub-committee with the Buckeye Lake Parks and Recreation Commission.

Last summer, I met a young man from Millersport (probably in his late 20s - early 30s) who was very interested in doing some of the physical repairs. I’ve misplaced his name and number so I’m hoping he will read this and contact me.

The Buckeye Lake Skate Park is widely used by skateboarders and BMX riders from around the lake area and beyond. Surprisingly, there are a number of adults that ride the ramps. Some of these individuals are sponsored riders and are quite skilled.

If you are interested in supporting this worthy project with a donation, you can mail a check to the Village of Buckeye Lake and indicate on the check, “designated for the skate park.” It would be great to hear from individuals from our neighboring communities since many of your children use our park. Help us make it a safer place for all those who use it!

For those who are interested in serving on the committee, sponsoring an event or have suggestions, please contact me at 740-928-1820 or pwells2@roadrunner.com
