Jane (Cooperider) Poock
Jane (Cooperider) Poock died November 8, 2013, at her home in Aiken, South Carolina.
Jane was born in Hebron, on November 13, 1925, and was the daughter of Walter (Mike) and Katharine Cooperider, of Hebron.
Jane graduated from Hebron High School with the Class of 1943 and was active in the musical programs offered by the school (orchestra, marching band, chorus, etc.) She was also the organist for the Hebron Church of Christ during her teenage years. She attended Capital University on a scholarship, majoring in their music program. It was there that she met her future husband, Richard Poock, who was a seminary student at Capital. They subsequently spent a career in the U.S. Air Force, with assignments in Idaho, Texas, Tennessee, Illinois, Panama Canal Zone, England, Turkey and Wright-Patterson in Dayton, among others. Upon completion of their service in the Air Force, they spent several years in Dayton before moving to Aiken, South Carolina.
Jane is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Gary, of South Carolina, Deborah, of Washington State, Sharon, of Georgia, David, of California, Elizabeth, of Texas and Chris of Virginia, and their spouses; and brothers, John, of New Hampshire and James (Frederick) of Ohio.
A memorial service was held in Aiken on November 16, 2013.
