Phelps thanked, supported for reelection

Editor:

Let’s keep Marcia Phelps as our Licking County Municipal Court Clerk!

Marcia and I don’t share the same political party. However, she has always worked hard for taxpayers. No one can deny that! Support for Marcia is spread across party lines. It’s not the candidate’s family name that matters. What’s most important is how they treat us and what they do once they get into office.

When our sewer rates spiked about 10 years ago due to the county commissioners lack of planning/foresight, Marcia stood alone answering questions at the Lakewood gym. It wasn’t a problem she created but she was there to take the heat and shed some honesty on the issue. She earned a lot of respect that evening.

Several years ago, I was part of a small self-appointed citizens committee, trying to minimize the financial burden of the mandated expansion of the Buckeye Lake sewage treatment plant. Marcia was the first commissioner to support our efforts to minimize rate increases and get a lastminute low interest loan. She recognized that we didn’t want to get in the way or create any issues. Our efforts were to benefit the users of the Buckeye Lake area sewer system and she was “ALL IN.” How refreshing...not the normal politician, but a step above. Marcia was not at all threatened by our interest. She was impressed and she welcomed our participation.

Thank you Marcia, for your years of service to Licking County. You have my vote.
