John Andrew “Andy” Fry, Sr.

John Andrew “Andy” Fry, Sr., age 86, of Thornville, passed away September 29, 2013, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. He was born on September 7, 1927, in Huntington, WV, son of the late Garnie and Bessie (Bias) Fry. Andy served his country in the United States Army, and was a former village administrator for Thornville. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local #55, as well as a 50 year member of the Free and Accepted Masons, most recently the Thornville F&AM Lodge #521. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and spending time with his family.

Andy is survived by his wife, Maryetta; three children, John (Debbie) Fry, Jr., Bobby (Gary) Lott, and Sherry (Mark) Kovach; three step-children, Debbie (David) Makarius, David (Connie) Hoppel, and Patty (Randy) Comisford; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grand children; two great-great grandchildren; five step-grand children; eight stepgreat grand children; and his sister, Eva Brumfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Lois; his son, Michael, and his brother, Ray.

A funeral service, celebrating Andy’s life, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013, in the chapel of the Thornville home of Hoskinson- Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 S. Main St., with Pastor Doug Lynn officiating. Burial will follow in Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with Masonic services commencing at 7:45 p.m.
