McCormick introduces herself

Editor:

This is an open letter to all the residents, part-time and full-time, of the Village of Buckeye Lake. My name is Michelle Mc- Cormick. Many of you may know me as Mickey. My husband, Bob and I have been property owners in the village since 1999 and full time residents since 2010.

I was appointed to a vacated position on Village Council by Mayor Baker. My term will expire at the end of this year. As Chair of the Community Development Committee, I will be setting up an account at PNC Bank called BBLL (Beautify Buckeye Lake with Lights) to hold funds for new holiday lights. More to come later on the fund raising efforts. I also hope to apply for a grant to improve our street lights within the city.

Yes, we have problems with our Fire Department, but I want to be a part of the solution, not the problem. I agree completely with another fine citizen of this community that we need volunteers to step up to the pollute to help make this fine city even better.

As a retired Realtor with over 25 years experience and 20 years in the tax arena, I believe I have much to offer this community. I will continue to be open to all ideas and suggestions, I pledge to work hard with the newly elected council members and mayor to make our village, which I consider to be the best kept secret in Licking County, well known as a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

I ask for your support in the November election.

Michelle McCormick
