ODOT closes, opens key roads
JACKSONTOWN - Thornwood Drive will close for 21 days beginning next Monday, September 16 for a culvert replacement just north of Hebron between Lees Road and Seminary Road. Traffic will be detoured via Irving Wick Drive to Ohio 79 to the Thornwood Dr. connector street.
MR Excavator, Inc. is the contractor for this $252,805.07 project. All work is expected to be completed by October 30, 2013.
Another important route into Newark reopened Wednesday, seven days ahead of schedule. Ohio 13 is now open between Hopewell Drive and Dorsey Mill Road.
This was a roadway stabilization project which included widening
Ohio 13 to add a retaining wall to stabilize the roadway. Although the road is now open, traffic may be restricted at times in order for the contractor to complete the project.
ODOT’s contractor for this $487,861 project is Shelly & Sands, Inc. of Zanesville.
The project completion date is November 30, 2013.
Nighttime paving work began Monday night on Interstate 70 at the Ohio 158 overpass. This work will take place between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. and is expected to be completed within the next two weeks, weather permitting.
One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times during construction hours.
