Robert Dean Pope

A funeral service celebrating the life of Robert Dean Pope, age 57, of Buckeye Lake, was held August 14, 2013, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta- Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. William J. Rauch officiating. Burial followed in Wilson Cemetery.

Dean passed away August 9, 2013, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

He was born February 14, 1956, in Columbus.

Dean was a graduate of Franklin Heights High School. He served in the Army Reserves and the National Guard. He lived in the Grove City area for many years before moving to Buckeye Lake. He enjoyed horse training, golfing, hunting, fishing, NASCAR, four-wheeling with his nephews and boating. Dean was a custom cabinet maker working for Grove City Cabinets/D.L. Atkinson for over 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, Kira Coad; a son, Robert Pope II of Columbus; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Pope of Canton; three grandchildren, Dominic, Mia, and Dimitri; his mother and stepfather, Viola and Charles Kent of Newark; two brothers, Kirk Pope of Columbus and David Pope of Hebron; uncle, Bob (Esther) Williams of Grove City; sistersin law, Nikki Pope and Connie Lynch both of Dayton and Cindy Coad of St. Louisville; brotherin law, Frank (Nancy) Coad of St. Louisville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Pope in 2012.
