Fred Zollinger named Sweet Corn Festival Grand Marshal

Editor:

On Wednesday, August 28, the Millersport Lions Club will host the 67th Annual Sweet Corn Festival Grand Parade. We are pleased to announce that Fred L. Zollinger will lead the parade on the Commodore Bank float as this year’s Grand Marshal.

Fred is being honored for his 67 years of unselfish service as a vital volunteer of the Sweet Corn Festival. That means he has been involved since the very beginning when the Festival was held on the streets of Millersport. He still can be found with his apron on cooking up delicious French fries in the Fellowcraft Booth all four days of our annual celebration.

There is hardly anything in Walnut Township that Fred has not been involved with for a man that is still very active at age 91. He is a well known farmer, has been a successful businessman, a pillar in his church, a Masonic Lodge leader, and a veteran having served in World War II. He is a past president of the Walnut Township Local School District serving many years on the Board of Education.

Fred’s unwavering volunteerism has made a difference in the lives of thousands. So on August 28 we hope you will join us in recognizing Fred L. Zollinger as the Grand Marshal for the 2013 Sweet Corn Festival Grand Parade when it kicks off at 6:00 p.m.

Ron Keller, General Chairman
Sweet Corn Festival, Inc.
