Dawes Arboretum - Ohio 13, three miles north of I-70.

Night Hike: Holy Moly Batman, Bats Galore!, Friday, July 19, 9 to 11 p.m. Learn about the dozen species of bats that live in Ohio and six of those species that call The Arboretum “home.” Bats are some of the most misunderstood wild creatures and are therefore one of the most feared. Discover interesting bat information and learn to separate the bat facts from myths, putting some of these “old wise tales” to rest. The program concludes with a hike to look and listen for bats throughout the grounds, using The Arboretum’s electronic bat detector. General Admission: $5, members: Free, meet at the Visitors Center.

Queen Of The Lake II Tour Boat - Buckeye Lake. Public tours begin Saturday, May 4, for the season on beautiful Buckeye Lake aboard the Queen of the Lake tour boat. Tours depart every Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m., boarding at Buckeye Lake State Park North Shore in the Village of Buckeye Lake off Ohio 79. Cost is $10 per person with children under 5 years free. The one-hour tour includes Buckeye Lake history told by a a local volunteer. Reservations are not needed. The boat has a sun roof and hold 40 passengers. Granville Farmers Market - Granville. Check out the area’s best farmers’ market from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays on North Main Street between Broadway and College streets. All kinds of good things to eat and drink.

Jazz & Rib Fest - Columbus. Downtown Columbus’Arena District hosts this summer tradition July 19-21. McFerson Commons and North Bank Park stages will anchor the event with performances featuring the best regional and international jazz artists. The Jazz Café at North Bank Pavilion will showcase local artists on an intimate riverfront stage set against the city skyline. Award winning rib-burners representing 10 states and Canada will fire up their grills along Spring & Long Streets to compete for “Best Ribs” bragging rights. 2013 Ohio State Fair - Columbus. Fun for everyone July 24 - August 4. Summer Reading Celebration - Hebron Library. Help us celebrate the end of another great Summer Reading Program at the Hebron Library. Children and their parents are invited to the library for a Summer Reading Party at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23. There will be prizes, Bingo and frozen treats for all attendees! Teens are invited to a Teen Summer Reading Party at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 25. Pizza, prizes and zombie tag will be on the menu. No registration required.

A Taste of Buckeye Lake - Buckeye Lake. Come in from your warm summer day and join the Friends of the Buckeye Lake Library for A Taste of Buckeye Lake, Saturday, July 27, 6 to 9 p.m. at the Buckeye Lake Library featuring food and drink from Buckeye Lake Brewery, John Doneff’s Island House, The Flour Shop, Weldon’s Ice Cream, Pizza Cottage, The Port Smokehouse, Buckeye Lake Winery, Doorbell Dinners, Northpole Frozen Custard & Water Ice, T’s Cones & Coneys, and featuring music by the Jack Gorham Band. Doughty Valley Steam Days - Charm. The 13th Annual Reunion returns July 25 - 27, just off Ohio 557, north of Charm. Daily activities include threshing, saw mill, shingle mill, corn sheller, grinders, baling and more. A draft horse pony pull is set from 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 25. The popular Spark Show is at sundown on Friday evening. Breakfast served on Friday and Saturday mornings with food available all day. Admission $4; 12 and under FREE!

Back to School Savings Workshop - Newark. Licking County Library is offering a Back to School Savings workshop on Monday, July 29, 2013, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Newark Library, 101 West Main, Newark. The event is free and open to the public. In this workshop presented by Lynette Rice of CleverlySimple.com, participants will learn how to reuse and repurpose supplies, price match items at area stores and even how to find the best coupons and sales. The Music of Queen - Columbus. Nationwide Insurance Picnic with the Pops presents The Music of Queen - A Rock and Symphonic Spectacular at the Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion (160 S.
