David Paul Schell

A Funeral Mass for David Paul Schell, 75, of Newark, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2013, with Father Michael Reis as celebrant. Friends and family are invited to a gathering in the Lamy Center of St. Francis Johnson Hall immediately following the Mass.

David, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, died at his home July 1, 2013, with his family by his side. He was born in Caldwell, Ohio on February 22, 1938, to Elvira (Hill) Schell of Heath, and the late Clarence W. Schell.

David, a 1955 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, was a man of strong faith and generous heart. He developed his love and passion for farming at an early age, working earnestly toward the establishment of Schell Brothers Farm. David was a devoted husband and father and lived his life to serve others.

In addition to his mother, David is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jane (Kirk) Schell; his children and their spouses, Kyle and Mark Simoff of Naples, Florida, Lesha Farias (Allen Schwartz) of Heath, Kirk and Jennifer Schell of Austin, Texas, and Shannon and Toby Hall of Tampa, Florida; his six granddaughters, Gabriela and Lauren Farias, Perry and Abigail Schell, and Paige and Bryn Hall; his siblings and their spouses, Clair and Julie Schell, Charles and Gail Schell, Barbara and Douglas Heffley, Mark Schell (Lynette White), Monica Stell, Steven and Susie Schell, Anne Schell, and Michael and Cathy Schell; his sisters-inlaw, Barbara Schell and Mary Jane Schell; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel Schell and Gregory Schell; and his sister-in-law, Donna Kirk.
