Harriett E. Messer

Harriett E. Messer, age 70 of Baltimore, died May 12, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Baltimore; a graduate of Liberty Union High School, Class of 1960; and retired from DFAS. Harriett loved traveling and camping and was a member of the Motor Coach Association.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jack Messer; daughters and sons-in-law, April and Mark Wheeler, Gahanna, Lisa and Scott Poling, Baltimore,and Cristina and Mike Randall, Pickerington; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Pamela Messer, Pataskala; grandchildren, Matthew Wheeler, Zachary Poling, Justin Wheeler, Kaytlyn Poling, Patrick Randall, Katherine Randall and Maggie Randall; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Mike LeMay, Lancaster; brother and sister-in-law, Gale and Charlotte Hill, Grove City; step sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Willis Miller, Baltimore; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Messer; and her parents, Chalmer and Nellie Reese Hill.

Funeral service is at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, Baltimore, with Pastor Bill Lavely officiating. Burial will follow in Basil Memorial Cemetery.
