It's tournament time…

BUCKEYE LAKE – The lake area’s best sports are softball and baseball. Five area teams – three softball and two baseball – are still in the tournament.

Tuesday, #10 seed Lakewood Lancers hammered #25 seed Columbus South 16- 0. The tournament trail gets much tougher for the Lancers when they meet #4 seed Plain City Jonathan Alder on their field Thursday.

The #2 seed Lady Lancers walloped #17 seed Columbus Beechcroft 17-0 Wednesday at home. Coach Criss Nadolson held Lancer base runners to one base on each hit to hold down the score. The Lady Lancers travel to Pickerington Central for a 5 p.m. game on Monday, May 20, with #4 seed St. Francis DeSales. The Lady Lancers have a 22-4 record.

#4 seed Liberty Union Lady Lions held #13 seed East Know scoreless in a 8-0 victory at home Wednesday. They travel to Pickerington North on Monday, May20,fora5p.m.gamewith #16 seed Columbus Bishop Ready. The Lady Lions are 20-4 on the season.

#3 seed Liberty Union Lions take on #18 seed Richwood North Union at home on Thursday. The Lions had a first round bye.

The #6 seed Sheridan Lady Generals take on #3 Circleville Logan Elm at their field at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The baseball Generals lost 2-1 to Hillsboro in the first round.
