Buckeye Lake

• April 17: A Duke service station employee reported a customer left without paying for $16.75 in gas.

• April 17: A Walnut Road man said his wife assaulted him. His wife couldn’t be located.

• April 18: Officer stopped a vehicle for drag racing within the village. The driver failed field sobriety tests and was charged with OVI and driving under suspension. A passenger was charged with having an open container of alcohol.

• April 19: A Georgia man was cited for stealing 20 lottery tickets from the Duke service station.

• April 19: A Hebron Road man with a “mental condition,” according to the report, threatened his parents.

He was transported to Licking Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

• April 19: A Central Avenue woman said her ex-boyfriend violated a protection order by harassing her repeatedly. The man said she was also harassing him. The Licking

County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case.

• April 19: The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office assisted police by locating a theft suspect and possible mobile meth lab in the rear of a U-Haul truck. The driver was returned to Buckeye Lake Police Department for an interview.

• April 20: A Millersport man was cited for driving 51 in a 35 miles per hour zone.

• April 20: Another Millersport man was cited for driving 49 in a 35 miles per hour zone.

• April 20: A Walnut Road man said a man confronted him over an issue that happened three years ago. He said the man yelled at him, shoved him, and hit the side of his car. He fled into a gas station for protection, where a clerk called police.

• April 20: A woman said the IRS advised her someone used her Social Security number without her permission.

• April 20: Police tried to stop a driver whom the officer expected was driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver kept going for two and a half miles at a speed of 25 miles per hour before finally stopping. The driver was not intoxicated but was driving with only a learner’s permit with no licensed driver as a passenger and was charged with failing to comply and improper stopping at an intersection.

• April 20: Police stopped a vehicle for equipment violations and found the driver possessed marijuana.

• April 21: A vehicle was being driven erratically on Seymour Avenue. The driver tried to turn onto Renner Street, but drove into a yard. An officer stopped the vehicle, whose driver was visibly intoxicated but refused a breath test. The driver had three previous OVIs since 1998.

• April 21: Police discovered a reported domestic dispute was only a father loudly talking to his daughter. No charges were filed.

• April 23: Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Renner Street, only to learn that the parties had gone to the Buckeye Lake Hardware store. A woman said her boyfriend grabbed her by the neck and slammed her on a table. The officer contacted the boyfriend’s probation officer, who told the Buckeye Lake officer this had happened before and the man should be transported to jail. The officer did so and charges are pending.
