Scrap metal to benefit Lady Lions

BALTIMORE- The Liberty Union- Thurston softball team’s fundraiser is far more creative than the typical bake sale or car wash-and more practical. Spring cleaning? Have old appliances, water heaters, and other scrap metal that needs a new home?

If so, then Basil Joint Fire District Chief Rob Cooley asks people to donate these items to the softball team. “We are currently accepting any and all donations of scrap metal,” he said. The items will picked up or they can be dropped off Basil Joint Fire District at 410 Washington St. in Baltimore, Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to noon. Cooley said if that date doesn’t work for donors, then donors could contact him to make other arrangements.
