Winter’s Last Blast?
LAKE AREA– Have we seen the last of winter? Fairfield County was under a Level 1 snow emergency Tuesday night and Wednesday morning as a late winter storm crossed the Buckeye Lake Area. The area only received a fraction of the up to five inches of snow predicted, but Lake Area schools were closed Wednesday.
According to Ohio. gov, during a Level 1 snow emergency, roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be icy. Motorists are urged to drive very cautiously.
During a Level 2 snow emergency, roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be very icy. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roads. Motorists are urged to contact employers to see if they should report to work. Motorists should use extreme caution.
During a Level 3 snow emergency, all roadways are closed to non- emergency personnel. No one should drive during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel or a personal emergency exists. All employees should contact their employers to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roads may subject themselves to arrest.
