Vincent Dean Wallar

A funeral service for Vincent Dean Wallar, age 54, of Hebron, was held December 31, 2012, at the Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Dave Mason officiating. Burial followed in Kirkersville Cemetery.

Mr. Wallar passed away December 23, 2012. He was born September 13, 1958, in Zanesville, to the late Richard Avery and Eileen (LeFever) Wallar.

Mr. Wallar was a firefighter with the City of Newark for 26 and one-half years and was the former Assistant Fire Chief. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Wallar enjoyed hunting, fishing, logging, motorcycles, guns and coin collecting. He was a “Jack of All Trades” and loved to build things and work on any outdoor project. He enjoyed kayaking and was a certified scuba diving instructor and loved to explore underwater caves.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Suzanne E. (Savage) Wallar, whom he married May 9, 1980; three sons, Samuel Cronin of Zanesville, Alan (Jessica) Wallar of Westerville and Jason (Sara) Wallar of Hebron; 10 grandchildren; brother, Richard (Sharon) Wallar of Logan; sister, Terry Southwick of Columbus; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Aaron Vincent Wallar; a brother, David Andrew Wallar; and a nephew, Neil Michael Wallar.
