Patriotic Art Contest open to grades 9-12

Dear Editor:

As we all know, great art takes time. Now is the time to start projects for The Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Creative Patriotic Art Contest. The contest is open to students in grades 9-12. Home schooled students are also eligible.

Art must be on paper or canvas. Water color, pencil, pastel, charcoal, tempera, crayon, acrylic, pen-and-ink, or oil may be used. Do not frame! Submit canvas entries on stretcher frames. Other entries must be matted on white. The art should be no smaller than 8”x 10” and no larger than 18”x 24”.

There are a few other rules as well. If you are interested, please contact Lauralyn Palmer at 740-929-2617, after 5 p.m., week days. The dead line for entry is March 31, 2013. Call for an application. Show us your talents. The first place entry will receive $10,000 at the Ladies Auxiliary National Convention.
