We Honor Vets
Hebron native and graduate Col. John Dernberger thanked fellow Veterans and their families for their service. He encouraged everyone present to seek out a Veteran and thank him or her for their service. “Don’t take your way of life for granted,” he cautioned.
The ceremony concluded with a 21-gun salute by Hebron American Legion Post 285 and Taps .
Buckeye Lake VFW Post 1388 hosted a Veterans Day lunch for everyone Monday, featuring a visit from 108-yearold Charlie Barico.
Flags were presented to Danny McSweeney, whose son-in-law, Sgt. Jessie Michael Balthaser was killed during active duty in Afghanistan September 2010, and Nina Mummey, whose husband, Lance Corporal Roger Mummey, passed away Sept. 12.
