Liberty Union boys, Sheridan girls compete at state tournament

HEBRON – The Buckeye Lake area was well represented at last Saturday’s State Cross Country Tournament at National Trail Raceway.

It was the tournament’s second year at the well known drag strip. Access was easy both participants and spectators.

In Division II, the Sheridan girls qualified as a team. They finished eighth overall led by Andrea Mick in 36th place, Heather Findlay in 64th place, Jessi Habegger at 67th, Denae Forgrave at 111th, Jane Oberhauser in 124th and Madison Emmert at 139th.

Matt Bromley qualified individually for the boys and finished third with a time of 15:49.94.

In Division III, the Liberty Union boys qualified as a team. They finished 14th overall led by Jeff Hanson in 65th place, Michael Cuschleg in 80th, Jacob Motts in 81st, Brandon Altiers in 116th, Gene Smith at 120th, Matt Maldovan at 129th and Tim Springer at 141st.
