Reject the fire levy until changes are made

Editor:

I don’t know why certain Buckeye Lake Village Council members and Mayor Baker are not listening to village residents. We are not criticizing the volunteers at the fire department but we do have concerns about the fire chief. HE is the problem.

All we got from Monday’s meeting is that they are forming a committee. But what are they going to do about the department’s leadership? When that question was asked, one of our residents was told again by Council President Charlene Hayden, “You are out of order!” No, Charlene, we are tax-paying residents who deserve an answer!

Rod Riley would be a good replacement for Pete Leindecker. At least he is present to fight fires unlike Leindecker.

Don’t forget about the fire levy renewal in November. Let’s send a message by voting “no” until we see some real changes for the better at the fire department.
