Edward “Chub” Tompkins

Private family services have been arranged for the family of Edward “Chub” Tompkins, 79, of Buckeye Lake, who died July 21, 2012, at his home following an extended illness.

He was born August 31, 1932, in Newark, the son of the late Walter and Lenora (Pitts) Tompkins. He was a member of the Buckeye Lake Eagles (30 year Golden Eagle), Licking County R.E.A.C.T., and St. John’s Lutheran Church, Linnville.

He retired in 1997 from the Caine Corporation in Hebron.

He is survived by his loving family: wife, Ruth D. Tompkins; step-son, David Bonner of Frazeysburg; grandson, David Bonner Jr. (Heather); two greatgrandchildren, Elizabeth and Ja- cob; and a brother, Gerald Tompkins of Somerset.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred and Pete; and sister, Margaret.

At Chub’s request, there are no calling hours or services. The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, PO Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058.
