Frederick E. Wright
Frederick E Wright, age 87, of Harbor Hills, passed away June 15, 2012, at home. Fred was born June 9, 1925, in Hillsdale County, Michigan, to Earl and Grace Wright. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in architecture. As an architect, he designed many churches and buildings on Ohio college campuses. Locally, Fred designed the original Buckeye Lake Museum and donated many hours to the completion of that project. He also served as president of the Greater Buckeye Lake Historical Society and was influential in the early development of the museum. He retired from Wright and Associates Architects. Fred was a World War II veteran who served in the 65th Infantry Division in Europe.
Fred is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth; son, Kevin; daughter, Sheri Wright-Jones; son-in-law, Doug Jones; daughter in-law, Nanette Wright; grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan, and Marisa; sisters, Alice and Dorothy; and brother, Earnest. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Anna and Rachel.
Fred enjoyed boating and was a Commodore at Buckeye Lake Yacht Club. He was actively involved with the Buckeye Lake Area Civic Association and was recognized for his contributions by being named Grand Marshal of the 1999 4th of July Boat Parade. Fred was a 55-year member of Downtown Sertoma and member of the Church of the Messiah United Methodist Church in Westerville.
