Bonnie Jean Cooper
Bonnie Jean Cooper, 90, of Thornville, died June 24, 2012, at her residence.
Bonnie was born March 9, 1922, to the late John F. and Cora A. Simmons Dove. She was a 1940 graduate of Thornville High School. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in, Thornville, the Lancaster Christian Women’s Club and the Trinity Guild. Bonnie retired from Shelly and Sands, Inc. in Zanesville, where she worked in the office from 1955-1995.
Bonnie is survived by a niece, Jean (Gene) Jackson of Baltimore; three other nieces; three nephews; and special friends, Janet and Neil Beard, and Carol and Leroy Parsons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles E. Cooper; a son, Terry L. Cooper, who gave his life in Vietnam; a sister, Lucille Pitsenbarger; and a brother, Marvin A. Dove.
Funeral service was held June 27, 2012, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerst, with the Rev. Patricia Battle officiating. Burial followed in the Thornville Lutheran Reform Cemetery.
