BOG DAY

BUCKEYE LAKE – A record of 625 people visited Cranberry Bog on Saturday, June 16.

Than ks to the G reater Buckeye Lake Historical Society’s new f ive-year management agreement with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, visitors didn’t have to enter a lottery to visit our hometown natural treasure. Visitors just had to show up at the North Shore boat ramp between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Though visitor numbers were up more than 50 percent from the lottery days, waits to board the Queen of the Lake II or a volunteer’s pontoon boat were generally 30 minutes or less.

Bog Day next year will be Saturday, June 15. But you don’t have to wait nearly a year to visit Cranberry Bog if you missed Bog Day this year. Just call the Buckeye Lake Museum at 740- 929-1998 to set up a tour.
