Walk with a Doc - 10 a.m. on Saturdays, June 23. Walk with a Doc was created by Dr. David Sabgir, a board-certified cardiologist who practices with Mount Carmel Clinical Cardiovascular Specialists. The Arboretum is collaborating with WWAD to help encourage healthy, physical activity in people of all ages, and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle. Improve your health and well-being by joining a walk and getting tips from a physician. Free. Meet at the Visitors Center Deck to get started!

Queen of the Lake Public Tours - Buckeye Lake. Enjoy a relaxing and interesting tour of Buckeye Lake at 2 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday aboard the Queen of the Lake II. Spring Nostalgia Nationals - National Trail Raceway, Hebron. Its the Second Annual Spring Nostalgia Nationals June 23-24 featuring 1977 and older vehicles. Butterfly Big Year - William C Kraner Nature Center, Newark. Join Chris Kline, author of Butterfly Rider, Chris’ adventure in trying to see as many butterfly species in one year. We’ll join Chris in a butterfly hike at Taft Reserve at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, and then go back to the nature center for a formal presentation at 2. $5 cost per person.
Star Party - William C Kraner Nature Center, Newark. Families are invited to the Central Ohio Astronomical Society’s(COAS) First Star Party. This event will begin promptly at 9 p.m. and last until midnight on Saturday, June 23, and is open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring their own telescopes if they own one. In the event of unfavorable observing weather conditions, the event will be rescheduled for another date.

P.T. Reptiles - Buckeye Lake. Join us at the Buckeye Lake Library at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 25, as we welcome the famous P.T. Reptiles. If you like snakes, spiders, lizards and more then you will love this program. Free and open to the whole family.
Teen Movie Night - Buckeye Lake. Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to the Buckeye Lake Library on Thursday, June 28th at 5 p.m. for our Teen Movie Night. We will be showing Soul Surfer (PG), and teens will be able to enjoy the movie and light refreshments.
Thorn Dunker 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament – Thornville. The annual 3 on 3 Thorn Dunker returns Wednesday, July 4, to the streets in downtown Thornville. Games begin at 1 p.m. on 10+ courts. Divisions for both boys and girls are: 8 and under, 9 & 10, 11 & 12, 13 & 14, 15 & 16, 17 & 18, 19 - 25, 26 - 35, and 36 and over. Entry fee is $70 per four-person team. All players receive a t-shirt. Top two teams in each division will receive trophies. Proceeds fund scholarships for local high school graduates. Registration deadline is June 23. BLASST - over Buckeye Lake. The spectacular community-funded fireworks display is set for 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3. Your tax-deductible contributions are needed. Mail checks made payable to “ BLASST” to BLASST, PO Box 475, Millersport OH 43046.
Independence Day Concert & Fireworks - Newark. The annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks display will be held on Tuesday, July 3, on the shared campus of The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College. The event is free and open to all. Sticks and Stones will open the festivities at 6 p.m., followed by the Heisey Wind Ensemble at 8 p.m. A fireworks display will begin at 10 p.m. After the fireworks, Sticks and Stones will return to the stage for an encore presentation. Performances will be held at the Martha Grace Reese Amphitheatre. Vendors will offer food and beverages. Bring lawn chairs, picnics, and blankets for a fun-filled evening of music and entertainment. Free parking is available at the campus.
Goodguys Hot Rod Drags - National Trail Raceway, Hebron. The Goodguys make a stop at National Trail Raceway Friday, July 6, with great Hot Rod racing and some of the coolest cars in the country on display in the pit area. Gates open at 2, on track at 4. Night of Thunder - National Trail Raceway, Hebron. It’s the 25th Anniversary show starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, featuring Bob Motz, world’s quickest and fastest jet semi; Danny O’Day, world record holding wheelstander; 150 mph snowmobiles; jet trains; jet funny cars; Blastro; and fireworks.
