Visit Cranberry Bog on June 16
BUCKEYE LAKE – It’s no longer necessary to win a lottery to visit the historic and nationally unique Cranberry Bog in Buckeye Lake.
Thanks to the Greater Buckeye Lake Historical Society’s five year agreement with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to manage Cranberry Bog, just show up between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, at the Buckeye Lake State Park North Shore boat ramp. It’s less than a mile south of I-70 on Ohio 79 in the Village of Buckeye Lake.
Visitors will board the Queen of the Lake II for a short ride to the floating bog and guided tour. The boat charge is just $5 per person. No reservations are required.
Food, a special Bog display and cranberry items such as muffins and juice will be available at the North Shore shelter house.
Visitors will find the Bog exceptionally humid so please dress accordingly.
