Thanks for Cans for Cancer

Cans 4 Cancer was a wonderful success. Community members saved their aluminum cans for the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Post 1388 and we recycled them for a total of $525 to be donated to Cancer Aide and Research.

A special thanks to Bandit from FOE 2801, Darrick Dunlap of Darrick’s Automotive who tirelessly helped us all day making trips to the recycling plant and procuring a trailer for us at the last minute, Jimmy Nauer for loaning us his trailer for the day, Terri Kreamer, Randy Zollinger, Brandon Almond, and John Doneff, owner of the Island House. Thanks so much. We will do this again in the fall so keep saving your cans.

We are planning a yard sale on Saturday July 21 at Darrick’s Automotive, 1691 Hebron Road in Heath. If you have anything you would like to donate please call me at the Post at 928-4832 and leave a message. I will check every evening and call you back.

We will take almost anything except clothing. Please help us out with a donation so we can raise money for cancer research at the VA Hospital and for our local Veterans.

Don’t forget the Kid’s Fishing Rodeo at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, at the Post. God Bless our Veterans and God Bless America.
