Karen Marie Huth

A Memorial Mass for Karen Marie Huth, age 72, of Millersport, was held on May 8, 2012, at St. Pius X School, Reynoldsburg, with Msgr. David Funk officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery, Madison, Wisconsin.

Karen passed away on May 1, 2012, at Kindred Healthcare- Newark surrounded by her family. She was born August 14, 1939, in Madison, Wisconsin, the fifth of seven children of the late Alton M. and Mary Lorena (Powers) Huth.

Karen was a 1957 graduate of Edgewood High School in Madison, Wisconsin. The next 11 years she was a member of the Racine Dominicans O.P. in Racine, Wisconsin, where she was known as Sister Mary Timothy. She spent 45 years in teaching and was a second grade teacher for 37 years at St. Pius X School in Reynoldsburg, retiring from there in 2005.

Karen loved children and St. Pius was her second family. Karen enjoyed movies, playing cards, gardening and making greeting cards and she was very proud of her Irish heritage. She had been a Girl Scout leader for many years. She especially loved being at her home on Buckeye Lake, which was the family home for many years.

She is survived by three sisters, Rosellen Jauss of Thornville, Coreen (Paul) Esser of Madison, Wisconsin and Mary Bonsack of Still Lakes, Florida; brother, Al (Jane) Huth of Lancaster; and many nieces, nephews, greatnieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Bill Huth; brothers-in-law, Al Bonsack and Don Jauss; and sister-in-law, Vanja Huth.
