Glenn Ray “Buddy” Lovejoy
A funeral service celebrating the life of Glenn Ray “Buddy” Lovejoy, 82, of Newark, will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 6, 2012, in the Jacksontown United Methodist Church, with Pastors Bob Byers and Carol Kirk as celebrants. Private family burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Buddy died Monday evening, April 2, 2012, at his home following an extended illness. He was born February 24, 1930, in Dayton, the son of the late John A. and Maude J. Lovejoy. He was a 1948 graduate of Fairborn High School and worked for 35 years for the Air Force, retiring from the Newark Air Force Base in 1985.
He loved golfing, gardening and working with stained glass. He was a member of the Jacksontown U.M. Church and NARFEE.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Bonnie; his sons, Johnny R. (Mary) Lovejoy of Denver, Colorado and Paul A. Lovejoy of Newark; his grandchildren, Alexis Nicole Smith and Joshua L. Lovejoy; his great grandchildren, Logan, Lane and Rider; his brother-in-law, Thomas Quigley; and his Jacksontown Church family.
His family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the services at noon at the Church, 9350 Jacksontown Rd. SE. An on-line guest register and video tribute are available at www.hoskinsonfuneral.com
