Robert “Bob” Gunnar Lundell

Robert “Bob” Gunnar Lundell, 81, of Hebron, went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2012, following a brief illness. He was born on February 16, 1931, in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Gunnar and Signe Helena (Nykvist) Lundell. Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict era and a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Thornville, NARFE, as well as a life member of the AMVETS Post 51, Thornport.

He was a 1951 graduate of Muskegon High School and later Ferris State University. Bob was an avid baseball fan and in earlier years, a pitcher. He retired from Newark Air Force Station Metrology Lab after 30 years of service. Bob enjoyed reading, traveling, playing golf and euchre, deer hunting, gardening, and volunteering at Christ’s Table.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Milly Lundell, of Hebron; sons, Michael and Erik Lundell; foreign exchange student, Vicente Correa and his family, of Paraguay; a brother, Irving Lundell, of Muskegon, Michigan; numerous sisters-inlaw and brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, James Lundell.

A funeral service, celebrating Bob’s life was held March 27, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church, Thornville, with Pastor Beth Bateson officiating.
