Buckeye Lake Village residents need know where their taxes are going

Editor:

Buckeye Lake Village Mayor Rick Baker is planning to hire current water tech Toby Miller as Director of Public Utilities. He would have a $45,000 a year salary, the highest of ANY village employee.

As far as I know, this opening was not advertised and Miller is the only person being considered.

I encourage village residents to come to the village council meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 26, to tell council members how you want them to spend your taxes. Council members must approve the position before the mayor can give it to Miller.

I tried hard for four years on council to keep spending under control and spent your taxes wisely. Often it was a lonely effort.

I will continue my efforts Monday night, but I need help from residents concerned about our spending and how it is being done.

There is an opportunity for citizen comments at the meeting and you will have a maximum of three minutes to make your comments or express your concerns.
