Robert K. Newbold
Robert K. Newbold, of Millersport, passed away March 6, 2012 at age 80.
A 1949 graduate of Carrollton High School, he attended The Ohio State University in Mechanical Engineering. He dedicated his life to a career in public service as a civil engineer. As Superintendent of the City of Columbus Construction Division, he was awarded the Golden Knight and Silver Knight awards by the National Management Association. After retirement from the City of Columbus, he served as construction consultant to the City of New Albany.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Helen (Shepherd) Newbold and Basil Newbold of Mechanicstown, Ohio. He is survived by two brothers, Basil Newbold Jr. (Edith) and Harold Newbold (Sandy), Mechanicstown, Ohio; and by two sons, Robert K. Newbold Jr. (Doris), of Hebron, and Garold L. Newbold (Cynthia), of Pataskala; along with an army of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins of whom he was immensely proud.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the Corinth Presbyterian Church, 7004 Salineville Road, Mechanicstown, Ohio on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest beside his parents.
