Southgate to build 50,000 sq. ft. spec building
HEBRON - Southgate Corporation of Newark is planning to build a 50,000 sq. ft. building at the end of Integrity Drive which runs south from Enterprise Drive on the west side of Ohio 79. It will be a “spec” building which means Southgate doesn’t have a commitment from a tenant yet.
Hebron’s Board of Planning and Zoning unanimously approved the project Monday night contingent on the village engineer’s approval of the plans. “There might be a variance,” village engineer Jerry Turner of Bird+Bull Engineers told board members. If one is needed it will from subdivision regulations and associated with utility extensions, not the village’s zoning regulations. The projects meets all the setback and siting requirements.
Commodore Bank has cleared the last Hebron hurdle to open its new branch off Arrowhead Boulevard. Board members unanimously approved three variances for the sign - allowing flashing and running lights, installation on a pole and a slightly larger surface area. The sign, which will be located along US 40 by the Ohio 79 northbound exit ramp, will be identical to Commodore’s sign on Lancaster Street in Millersport. The new branch is expected to open in mid-April.
Board members also reviewed preliminary plans for relocating an employee parking lot at Sunfield Equipment in the industrial park. The move, prompted by the addition of another truck bay, includes relocating the retention pond. Turner is reviewing the plans.
The board’s next regular meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 2.
