A funeral service for Robert Hamilton of Thornville will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday February 25, 2012, at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church, Buckeye Lake, with Rev. Fr. William Ferguson officiating.
Robert was born on July 22, 1932, to the late William and Sophie (Barber) Hamilton. He died Monday, February 20, 2012, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville. He was 79.
Robert was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict and a graduate of Aquinas High School, Class of ‘50. He retired from Diebold and was an avid OSU fan and loved to play golf and hunt. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, AMVETS, Newark Moose Lodge #499, and was a former member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Columbus.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife’s parents, Muriel and David Hamilton. He is survived by his wife, Emily (Hamilton) of 54 years; son, Robert (Mary Beth) Hamilton II; daughters, Deborah (Don) Dyson, Patricia Vonville (Mike Dorn), Julianne Hamilton of AZ, and Rebecca Hamilton (Jamie Wilden); grandchildren, Stephaini, Michael, Jennifer, Robert III, Mackenzie, Taylor, Austin, and Ryan; great-granddaughter, Hailey; step-grandchildren, Matt (Marlene) Wilden, Brianne Wilden, and Janice Wilden; stepgreat grandson, Miles Wilden; brother, William (Bonnie) Hamilton of Westerville; numerous nieces and nephews; buddies, Paul and Doug; and golf buddy, Bill.
