Milburn E. Miller

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Milburn E. Miller, 86, of Hebron, will be held Friday, December 16, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with Pastor Ronald Botts as celebrant. Full military honors will follow the services. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 5-8 pm. at the funeral home, 285 E. Milburn died early Tuesday, December 13, 2011, in Columbus following an extended illness. He was born in Columbus, on January 29, 1925, the son of the late Milburn Otis and Clara (Heilman) Miller. A graduate of Bliss Business College in Columbus, he was retired from Edward Don & Company, a restaurant supply company, as a salesman.

He served honorably in the US Army, fighting in the battle and landing at Normandy in 1944. He was a life member of VFW Post 1388 of Buckeye Lake and the Southway Post of the American Legion. He was a life member of the St. Johns Evangelical Protestant Church in Columbus.

Milburn loved to cut grass, and enjoyed time sitting at his pond. He was a great cook, and took pride in doing all the cooking for his family.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Georgia (Wylie), whom he married on February 26, 1949; his children, Eric (Sharon) Miller of Gahanna, Karen (Ron) Snoke and Kurt Miller of Hebron; grandchildren, Kyle Miller, Kevin (Lauren) Miller, Erica Miller (Josh Bush);great-granddaughter, Lillian; sisters-in-law, Mary(Mrs. Alan) and Helen(Mrs. Gerald) Miller; several nephews; a niece; and good friend, J.C. Queen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald and Alan; and his granddaughter, Melissa Miller.

The family prefers memorials to the St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church, 59 E. Mound St., Columbus, Ohio 43215.
