Thomas “Tom” Earl Hannan

Thomas “Tom” Earl Hannan, age 67 of Millersport, passed away November 19, 2011, at Regency Hospital of Columbus, after a long hard fight with many illnesses, with his family by his side.

Tom was born May 2, 1944, in Lancaster, to the late Robert and Mildred Hannan of Pleasantville, Ohio. He served in the U. S. Army, was a Millersport Police officer, a volunteer on the Walnut Township Fire Department, deputy sheriff, Scout leader, and a member of the Land of Legend Fly Fishers. He worked for the Hannan Meat Company, Lancaster Parks and Recreation, and was a manager for the State of Ohio-ODNR-Dredge Crew for 30 years. Tom loved spending time with his grandsons, instilling in them his funny sense of humor and strong work ethic. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ruth Hannan; son, Tom (Mary) Hannan of Thornville; daughter, Nicole (Kevin) Kramer of Lancaster; six grandsons, Blaine and Garrett Hannan, Colton, Juston, Peyton and Bryton Kramer; sister, Justine (Sam) Skaggs, of Glenford; and many wonderful family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lew and Linda Hannan, Ross and Verna Wheaton; and father and mother-inlaw, Harold and Clara Price. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on November 23, 2011, at Sheridan-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 11544 Summerland Beach Rd., Millersport, with interment at Millersport Cemetery.
