Dawes Arboretum - Ohio 13, three miles north of I-70.

Luminary Tour - Friday, Dec. 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A total of 1,500 candle luminaries will line the North End Auto Tour. Free plus join us at the Visitors’ Center after the drive for a cup of hot cocoa, a holiday treat and some activities for the whole family. Please bring a non–perishable food or monetary donation for the Licking County Food Pantry.

The grounds are open from dawn to dusk. The Visitors Center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays and holidays. More more information visit www.dawes arb.org

Bingo and Ice Cream - Newark. Take a break from all that turkey, football, and shopping and join us for Bingo and Ice Cream at Licking County Library’s downtown Newark Library on Saturday, November 26, from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. There will be game-winner prizes appropriate for all ages, even adults, and all children will go home with a prize. The fun ends with ice cream for everyone. Recommended for ages 3 and up. Contact the Children’s Department at 349-5550 for more details.

Santa Paws - Newark. The 9th Annual Santa Paws Pet Portraits to benefit Angel Paws is set for Wilson’s Garden Center. Customized, digital pet portraits with Santa will be offered November 26 - 27 AND December 3-4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Digital photo packages start at $10 and include a free gift bag! Purchase a customized print to take home and/or bring your flash drive and take ALL shots home! Craft and Cookie Bazaar - Thornport. AMVETS Post #51 Ladies Auxiliary is hosting a Craft and Cookie Bazaar from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. Eightfoot vendor tables are available for $20; contact Bonnie Davenport at 740-207-6329.

Santa Visit - Newark. Come one, come all, to the annual Caroling on Campus at the John Gilbert Reese Center on Friday, December 2, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Singing and storytelling from 6 - 6:30 p.m.; Santa will visit with children from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy cookies and hot chocolate, singing carols led by the University Chorus, as well as ‘Twas the Night before Christmas, read by Ohio State Newark’s Dean/Director, Bill MacDonald. Children are invited to visit with Santa from 6 - 7:15 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa and Christmas Cookie Walk - Baltimore. The annual Christmas Cookie Walk benefiting nonprofits in Baltimore and Breakfast with Santa have combined this year to celebrate the Christmas Season. Stop by the Liberty Union Elementary School from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 3, to have breakfast with Santa or pick up a box of homemade Christmas cookies. LU Music Boosters will be serving pancakes, sausage, juice, milk or coffee for $5 per person with tickets w available at the door. The Secret Santa Shop will be open for holiday shopping and photos with Santa will be available. Cookies by the box cost $8, $6 or $4.. Grantseeking Basics - Newark. Licking County Library will host a live Foundation Center webinar on Grantseeking Basics for nonprofit organizations on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Newark Library, Upper Level Conference Room, 101 West Main Street, Newark. The webinar will be presented and moderated online by Foundation Center staff and will provide an overview of the grantseeking process and the tools and resources available. A librarian will be present to answer questions and provide assistance with the Library’s Foundation Center resources at the end of the session.

Country Holiday Home Tour - Pataskala area. Four homes, a church, two historical sites and a tractor display are all festively decorated for the holiday season from 1 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4. HeroClix - Newark Library. In partnership with Comic Shop Plus, Licking County Library presents a night of HeroClix, Wednesday, December 7 at 6:00 pm. Enjoy a night of gaming for all experience levels. Beginners and advanced gamers are welcome. This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments and door prizes will be on hand. Outville Christmas Parade - Outville. The 16th annual Outville Christmas parade starts at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 10. Parade registration and lineup begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Harrison Township Community Complex, 6750 Outville Rd. S.W. The parade features motorcycles, antique cars, trucks, tractors, equestrian units, organizations, bands and more! Immediately following the parade at the Harrison Township Community Complex, there will be entertainment, a goodies auction, and a visit from Santa himself. Refreshments will also be served including cornbread and the renowned Outville ham and bean soup.
