Robert E. Litzinger
Robert E. Litzinger, 77 of Newark, passed away suddenly at his residence on November 14, 2011. He was born on June 13, 1934, in Newark to the late Francis and Frances (Reeb) Litzinger. At Robert’s request, there will not be any calling hours or services. He has generously chosen to donate himself to Ohio University’s anatomical program.
Prior to retirement, he was an electrician with Kaiser Aluminum for 45 years. Robert was a former treasurer for the Steelworkers Union #341. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He was a member of the Newark Eagles Lodge, Newark Moose Lodge and the Newark Maennerchor. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, hunting, boating, and watching football. He also built numerous docks around the Buckeye Lake area. Most important to Robert was spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Roma I. (Brown) Litzinger, whom he married on September 27, 1954; children, Rochelle (Rick) Huegli of Oregon, Roberta (Paul) Kneller of Hebron, Rhonda (Jim) Weese of Hebron, Robert Litzinger of Heath and Renea (Ken) Taylor of Kentucky; grandchildren, Sarah, Zach, Shawn, Jessica, Tyler, Ashley, Ryan, Anthony, Elizabeth, Karley, Treay, Anna, Izabella and Aliviya; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one grandson, Travis; and brothers, Jerry, Gene, Mike and Fred.
