Alicia M. Vogelmeier

A Mass of Christian Burial for Alicia M. Vogelmeier, 97, of Hebron, will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Buckeye Lake, 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2011, with Rev. G. Michael Gribble officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Newark.

Mrs. Vogelmeier died at her home in Harbor Hills on Sunday, November 6, 2011. She was born in Newark, on August 28, 1914, to the late John T. and Anna (Keck) Birmingham.

Alicia graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in 1932 and went on to graduate from St. Mary of the Woods College, Indiana. Over the years Alicia had been a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales, St. Edward the Confessor, and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. She was a member of Monday Talks, Newark Garden Club, Lady Lions Club, Licking County Historical Society, and the Harbor Hills Women’s Club.

Alicia is survived by her children and their spouses, Mary Anne and Vern Johnston of Hebron, Sarah Alicia “Sally” and Rodney Howarth of Hebron, Philip III and Marjorie Vogelmeier of Newark, and Jane Ellen and David Whyde of Hebron; her grandchildren and their spouses, Melinda Johnston, Laura (Adam) Hunt, Craig Howarth, Judson (Anne) Howarth, Nathan (Angie) Howarth, Damon Howarth, Erin (Hans) Schell, Philip IV (Ashley) Vogelmeier, Kate (John) Anderson, Quinn (Jenifer) Schaller, Katie Whyde, and Chris Whyde; 13 great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews, Cynthia Egan, Sarah Kathleen Egan, Thomas (Donna) Egan, and Suzann (Robert) Shea.

In addition to her parents, Alicia was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Vogelmeier Jr., and her sister and brother-in-law, Olga L. and Charles E. “Gene” Egan.

Friends and family may call from 4-7 P.M., Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
