Fiscal officer candidate introduces himself

Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Jason Emmert and I am a candidate for Thorn Township Fiscal Officer.

I have been a lifetime resident of the Thornville area, and am very active in the community. I have a Bachelors Degree in accounting from The Ohio State University, work full time as an accountant for the United Sates Air Force, and volunteer as a firefighter/EMT for the Thorn Township Fire Department. I also volunteer as a 4-H advisor for the Funny Farm 4-H Club, and am active in the leadership of Cub Scout Pack 42.

I am running for this position because I would like to use my experience to help the local community through the tough economic times we are currently experiencing. As an accountant with the federal government and a member of the fire department, I have experienced the impacts of the budget issues facing local government.

I would like to work with the Trustees, and other Township personnel in developing ways to maintain our level of service to the residents while ensuring current and future township needs are planned for.

I thank you for this opportunity to introduce myself and present my qualifications and reasons for running for the position of Thorn Township Fiscal Officer.

Jason Emmert
