Trustee candidate say he will add ‘common sense’ to board

Editor:

I am a candidate for Walnut Township Trustee. First, we need to thank Trustee Ralph Zollinger for his decades of unselfish and dedicated service. He has set the bar high for the next office holder.

I enter this race to represent ALL residents! I represent no departments, councils or groups that might influence township decisions. I only seek endorsements from the Township voters on Nov. 8th. I carry no grudges against any group or individual. As a lifelong and fifth generation resident of the township, I think I know our township pretty well. I would hope my rural heritage and as a local 30 year small business owner I would bring “common sense” and “professionalism” to the table.

Due to the economic times we face, now is when we need to make sound, conservative business decisions. As a 10 year former board of education member, I learned resident input is extremely important prior to any decision. I support the consolidation of our fire departments. This would eliminate some expensive duplicate equipment and remove the hassle of constant individual budget battles. I do not support closing any department! We must insure ALL residents receive the best response when needed most.

We live in a unique and wonderful township. Help me add some “common sense” to this board! I would appreciate your vote on Nov. 8th.
